"I was wondering when is the right time to start toilet training?

I started my daughter over a month ago and we are still having some trouble with wet knickers... how do i get her to go when she needs to? She's now two and a half "

I started my son at about 2 years old. I just put him on the potty every 20 - 30 minutes, sooner after he had a drink. alot of the time he just sat on the potty watching tv, once he did a wee he stood up and told us he had done one. I made up a chart, everytime he did a wee in the potty he got 1 sticker, and 2 for poo's, if he did it on the toilet it would be one sticker extra, so 2 for wee and 3 for poo. Once there was 25 (I think it was 25) stickets he got a little pressie, Just one of those hot wheels cars (cost like $1.50) He got down about 5 rows (so 5 pressie) then started telling me when he had to go toilet. It takes time, every child is different. When he wasnt on the toilet or potty, he would chop and change between wearing pull ups and undies...lucky for me he hated the feeling of a wet pull up.

Good luck! and I hope my post helps!

Just remember, everyone is different! You've got a girl, so you dont have to teach her to stand up to wee! haha, My son now takes himself to the loo and is happy to stand there, all that! He's a real little boy now! (3 years old)

I have not yet gone through this myself, but my best friends daughter was very hard to train. She started at 2 and wasnt finished til 3 1/2! Unfortunately, for most people it does take quite a few months. The idea above is a really good one, as it motivates the child. Make sure that you dont get too worked up about it, cos even the most determined child eventually gives in. Just as long as the idea of using the toilet is desirable to them, e.g giving rewards when they get it right, or giving them lots of attention and praise. Punishing them if they have an accident always slows the process.
Hope i helped, and good luck.

With my first daughter I tried every and anything but she just wasnt having it when it came to toilet training.  The ONLY thing that helped was I had the idea that in her being a girl and loving girly things to make her potty "BEAUTIFUL" and fit for a queen.  I purchased one of those musical pottys. I purchased some really tacky jewels and some super glue.  I super glued TONS of jewls all over her potty.  I also purchased a crown and a wand.  Every 15 mins. I would tell her lets go sit on our thrown.  I swear each and everytime she was excited and she was potty train right then and there! Make it fun for your little one, find what their interest is and go from there.  Good Luck!  .............and dont stress...........EVERYONE adventually "gets it". Cheers!
