Toilet Training Accidents

"My son is 3 years and 7 months old, over the past 2 weeks he has been having "problems" with doing a poo. Not like it's not coming, it is, in his pants, and he doesn't say anything until he has already started doing it in his undies. He has been toilet trained for well over a year now. We have no idea what is causing him to do it? Everytime he does a "fluffy" (Fart) I ask him if he needs to go toilet and he says no..I even put him on the toilet and still nothing..Only to find within the hour he has started in his pants. His "fluffys" are starting to be really really smelly too. He doesn't do a poop everyday..is he suppose to? Any advice would be helpful! I'm pregnant and due in 3 weeks, I dont want to have to worry about cleaning to fully toilet trained little boys undies as well as a baby's nappy..Please Help! "

hi darl this might be a bit of a jealousy thing and it might not stop until after the baby is born and he realises you love him just as much, it might get worse for a little while..
Good luck though and just keep praising him when he does get it right!!

hey ya darls I read what you had to say about your son. i have a son corey, he is 4 years old & i have the same problem with him. he can wee in the toilet on his own but go's off to his room to do his poos in his jocks.
I try to incourage him and praise him the best i can about doing poos in the toilet and have even told him i would stay with him. I have a feeling it might be some sort of fear that some little boys have when it comes to doing poos on the loo, as i have read this in several parenting mags.

Hi there,
I agree it could be a jealousy thing, two weeks before my second child was born my first daughter really started playing up, she stopped talking and started having bottles in bed agian and had a dummy in her mouth 24/7, but then a few weeks after charlotte was born she went back to normal. Im not sure why she did it but i have read a few things about it, when a big change happens kids can tell and thats why they resort to doing baby like things, or when a new baby is coming and its geting all new toy and clothes ect. and everyone is talking about it kids pick up on it.
I guess the best thing i canthink of is try not to stress to much about it as he will pick up on that too.
Hope this helps :S
