Rolling over & teeth - is this normal?
|
Submitted by Sophie |

"My name is Sophie and my 3 & 1/2 month old sons name is Charlie Oliver.
My question I need answered is this, he can already roll over. Is this normal and is this ok that he already has his two teeth? The nurses say that's fine, but I would rather another mother confirm it, as I'm sure you've all been through this."

Yes it is normal! Babies develop at different ages some wuiker some later. My daughter was rollin early and walking. She started walking at 7months whilst other babies were l8 starters. Its just depends on the child. But if you are worried ask your doctor... But he'll be fine lol.

Hi Sophie, rolling over this early is something to be proud of, not worried about. Every child developes differently and at different times. The "rules" of developement by the parenting books and the mid-wives etc are based on percentages. There are still many many babies that fall on the extreme side of the scale in every developemental stage. In fact, you'll probably find it hard to find a single parent whose child hit every single milestone at the exact time the books say he or she should.
My bubby starting teething at 4 months, and we were told by our health care nurse that "No, that it impossible. Babies do not start teethig until they are 6 months old". Like hell!!!!
One of the mums in my mothers group was actually born with a tooth (her, not her baby), and the same health care nurse told her that her mum and lied to her as it was "Impossible for children to start teething before 6 months". Hmmmmmm, riiiigghhhttttt......
My point is, Charlie sounds like a normal healthy baby, and his teeth and ability to roll over is something to be proud of, not worried about.

I have 2 girls, 4 1/2 months and 2 years old. Both were teething at 10 weeks old but the oldest didnt cut teeth til 4/5 months I think, the youngest hasnt cut them yet...(shes 4 1/2 mths)
The oldest rolled at 9 weeks and the youngest at 2 weeks!! So that was mad!! Dont worry about the rolling, just means that they are strong and you have probably given them lots of tummy time which is good :-) And you will just have to watch them closer when you have bub laying in a pillow etc...
I have heard of babies born with a full set of teeth and that freaked me out!! It is normal for Charlie so dont worry. I bet he looks so cute and different with those teeth....I cant wait for my baby to cut hers. Their whole faces change :-)

My DD rolled for the first time @ 13 weeks. She was crawling and standing by 6 months and is now 9 months and is almost walking. She got 2 teeth @ 6 months and now has 5 but one of her girlfriends got her 1st teeth at 16 weeks and now has 12 @ 10 months old!!!
Be proud that your little man is an early bird but just watch him on the bed, changetable etc! :)

Hi Sophie, I have two children, Ella 2 1/2 yrs and joshi 10months, Ella was rolling at 3months, crawling by 5 1/2 months and walking before 9 months, it is definately something to be proud of! they are all different, thats what makes each one so special! Tthere are children born with teeth! I have a friend that had a little girl, she had 3 teeth when she was born! some come early, and some late, nothing to worry about! my son is yet to get a single tooth @ 10months!

Hi, yeah, this is perfectly fine. My daughter Nicole started teething at 2 1/2 months! They are all little individuals, although it is good to worry in case something that is a problem arrises. If you get it all checked out, it wont get overlooked.

I found it quite scary also. My girl Tamryn is now almost 10 months old and walking. She was rolling over at 3 1/2 months and also had her 2 first teeth at about 3 months. She has 7 now with 2 more coming in. I wouldn't worry too much. Ive learn t that babies and children will do something when they're ready to. But congratulations on your gorgeous little mans milestones. You have much more to look forward to...
im sure you're a very proud mummy as are we all...
Take care and good luck

Hi there Sophie, I think you should be very proud my little girl is 7 months and wants to walk already, I was so excited when she rolled for the first time at about 4 months, now she never stays still.. She's been teething for months and still hasnt cut one. I worry about her because she sleeps all night and isnt putting on enough weight but she is so happy. be proud and dont worry.
