I dont have a girl but If I did I'd prob get it done I remember getting my ears pierced and it was horrible I was 5... I screamed and carried on but I had been begging mum to let me have em' cos all my mates at pre-school did... now cos I screamed so much they are uneven haha... I dont think its mean or horrible they are only bubs they wont remember it... My friend got her daughters done at 6mths and she hardly cried no worse then have her needles and they look adorable... but yeah newborns it looks wierd... each to their own but its your decision but it'll save the screams later but that doesnt mean they HAVE to have them done at all but anyways

hey i got my daughters pierced at 9 months she cried for a second and then was fine. The thing thatpeople need to remember that each mother or father makes their own decisions on what they do with their children and it is no body's business to judge. If you choose to have your babies ears pierced then great if you dont than thats fine too. The same principals can be applied to controlled crying and breast feeding, its all up to the parent.
Have a nice day.

I think babies/toddlers look cute with little syuds/earings, and i thinnk it is a great idea to get it done early, as I know many people who have waited untill there child was a bit older and paid the price. I know it should be the childs desision but how many little girls dont want to wear earings? I think it is up to each indavidual parent on weather they peirce there childs ears, some people like it and some dont.
As for the pain it cant hurt that much more than injections or tetthing, and atleast while there young they cant play with them. Must places do both ears at the same time. I had my ears ierced when i was two and dont remember it so im glad I had them done early. I have a 2 yr old and a 7m old and they are both getting there ears done soon! Have a nice day : )

I got my daughters ears done when she was 12 weeks old! i put numbing gel on both sides of her ears about half hour b4 we went to get them done and she didnt feel a thing, there was no tears and she didnt even jump cos she didnt feel a thing! I think its betta to get them done when they are babys cos they wont remember it latta, like some1 else said how she got hers done at the age of 5 and it was horrible for her!
And as for the bit where u said that u think its unfair for some1 who cant speak for them selves weather they do or dont want it done.....i think its not unfair cos when they are young everything is our choice. And if my daughter didnt want her ear rings in when she was old enough to make her own choice she could just take them out.... no big deal!

Hey.. I dont think its a nice idea.. like her ears are still going to grow, and why would you want her to grow up so fast.. like really being a lil baby still.. what sort of child is going to want to go through all that pain (when they like hate needles even) just for earrings.. that they dont even know what theyre for.. anyway.. i agree with you..its not fair on them!!
And as they get older (day by day) and they start exploring their bodies (eg when they realised they had hands and feet etc) they will find they have these sparkly things in their ears (or even just feel them) and they might pull on them and really hurt themselves...................

My daughter was done at 3 months, and from a medical stand point babies til a certain age have no nerve ending in there ear lobes the develope at around 6 -9mnths so they dont actually feel a thing the reason for the crying is most likely the load click noise in there ear when the gun goes off scares them more than likely. and my daughter has explered every part of her body and not once touched her earing studs. does anyone remeber when they were 1? or before? no didn't think so... but they will remeber the pain at 5 or 6 or 10 for that matter. people say it cruel to do it to babies but i dont believe it is and at a younger age it easier to keep the ears from getting infected because at one or beyond the children tend to play with there newly peirced ears transfereing germs and what not to the ear unlike a small newborn.

I'm going to wait for when/if Bella asks for them. Yes, they look very pretty, but they aren't a necessity. So, the day she asks I'll be happy for her to get them done, but until then she'll be piercing free!

hello all.
i had my daughters done at 5 mths she didnt cry or anything. I guess i can see both views on this topic but i also looked at it like she wouldnt remember and it would hurt less if i got them done when she was little. I dont agree with babys who are just born. At my last job i met a young mother who just had her babys done she was 6 - 8 wks and the werent little studs they were big people ones and i dont agree with that the poor bubba had sore infected ears i think if you are going to get it done they should be little studs for babys. anyways that my view but yes it depends on the parent and evryone is different and have different views. Hope u all had a good long weekend. my kids were feral. lol but i guess thats nothing new for them at the moment. hahah

I had my ears done when i was 5, and i apparently didnt like it but i cant remember it. I dont think it should be done til babies are over 1 cos their little immune systems are tooweak. No need to give their bodies an opening for germs to pour in, and it would take a lot longer to heal. After that i think whenever, i dont think little girls will complain about having earrings later in life.

Thanx for such a great response guys!! I only asked the question as the other day i saw a tiny tiny baby getting hers done and the mother looked indian, i wasnt sure if it was a culture thing or not? I agree its each to themselves... but in my opinion i want to keep my little girl a little girl for as long as i can! Hopefully when she is older and asks for them done the pain will put her off anyother peircings haha!
Im sure if you get your childs ears done, and you can handle it then your not doing anything wrong by your child! I was just curious on whjat everyone else thought about it...
