"Hi everyone, My son (Xander) is 3, and has been having a few nightmare's (like 2-4 times a week). He doesn't really say what they are about, because I dont think he understands. Is there anything that I can do to help calm him down? This morning he woke up at 4am, and didn't go back to sleep until 5.30am, which I then had to get up at 6am to get ready for work. It's starting to get really tiring also because I'm pregnant.
He sleeps with a light on (a little larva lamp), and he has friendly toy's around his room. Just a normal kids room really. Has anyone else had these problems? I dont know what could be causing them."

Most kids will have nightmares, they generally sart getting them from about 3 years of age. I don't think there's really anything you can do to STOP him from having them, but to try and ease his stress once he wakes up you could try some sort of "magical potion" or something. Like a spray bottle with a bit of water and lavendar to 'make the bad dreams go away'. Might make your bub feel a bit in control of the situation and he might not be as scared when he wakes up, knowing he can spray away the baddies. Just a thought, it might work!

Hi Jay! My daughter isnt old enough for nightmares yet lol! But my little brother who is 7 this year, used to have them ALOT! They say dreams and nightmares happen when you see something that day or hear something or watch something, its locked into your memory and you dream/nightmare about it.
Maybe your son is watching something on T.V. thats causing it? it could be something as simple as a monster in a movie (monsters inc) /i agree with the "MAGIC SPRAY" or you could try decorating some sort of wand to wave and some magic words to go with it, so he dosnt have to get up and tell you, he can do it all by himself and be really brave, and maybe reward him for being such a brave boy! You could even try this, before its his bed time, ask him to use his "spray" or "wand" in YOUR room and then the next morning tell him it works really well! Imagination is the key i rekon! Have fun with your magic powers!
