My son was 18 months old when i changed him from a cot to bed and the bed i got him was oh so high. my suggestion to you is to try it but maybe pu something on the floor so if he does wake up he wont fall on a hard floor. my son new he was in his bed so he just sat up and cried when he woke up. see how you go try it and if he freaks out then just take it step by step. i hope i have helped a little bit for you there is not much advice people can give you on changing beds. the only advise i was giving is when they can get out of their cot they r ready for a bed

Hi, my 2 yr old daughters just gone into her big girl bed, except we have just moved into my bfs place and there was no room for the cot pluse to beds for his girls so we put her in her own and his girls in a bunk anyways i thought it was gonna be bad andn that shed get scared but she was fine shes only woken up a couple of times once cos she rolled out so i wouldnt worrie to much about it u have to change bbeds sometime so just try and see how he goes if hes upset u can always put him back in his cot for bit longer or even take the side off the cot then mabey he will feel abity safer cos his still in it then put him in the bed after he is used to having no side. also put a thick blanket down if u do that so if he rolls out there will be extra padding and he wont get hurt.

We have just put our 13 month old into a toddler bed! he was starting to climb out of his cot!
He has been fione we dont close door leave it ajar and if he gets a fright he comes straight into our room.
my eldest was in big bed from 14 months due to the same things! but my yonugest is alot smaller so we opeted for a toddler bed!
You'll find your little one will adjust pretty quickly and easily
We also have another small matress on the floor just to be on the safe side.

I think u should put him in to a big boys bed. If he is sleeping in the bed during the day then there shouldn't be a problem with getting him to sleep in the bed at night.
