Bleeding during pregnany - the doctors can't help!
|

"Hi all, I am almost 6 months pregnant and have been having some bleeding on and off throughout my pregnancy so far. I was taking "Pregnancy and Breast Feeding" pills, and the bleeding was on and off, I stopped taking them.. Mostly becuase I forgot to take them, and I started up on them again on Tuesday andThursday night I started bleeding again. Doctors cant find the problem, and I've had 8 ultrasounds and there is no problem with baby or anything around baby or anything they can see at all! I didnt think of it until last night, but do you think there could be a connection between the bleeding and me taking the pills to boost my iron in take? Maybe I'm not low on iron???"

hmmm, it sounds like the tablets to me. Have you tried any different brands??
When I was pregnant I only took the pills until I was about 4 months, then I started taking them again when I was breastfeeding. So you probably dont need to be taking them anymore. What I'd do is stop taking them and go and see a doctor for a blood test, If your low on Iron, or anything else, then just take that. Even though there is nothing wrong with the baby Id still be weary about taking them.

It sounds like the tablets could be the problem .. maybe you should stop taking them .. you doctor can always send you for a blood test after you stop taking them to check your iron levels.

I'd say its the tablets!!!!! Try a different iron supplement and see how you go, if your still bleeding id have a blood test or just stop taking them!!! I was low in iron HEAPS! and never had a problem with taking the tablets, so maybe a blood test would be the way to go! Take care

Bleeding always freaks you out when you are pregnant so if your doctor says not to worry then everything should be okay. I was enemic and had severe morning sickness the doc said that iron tablets can make your morning sickness worse. I cant see why the tablets would do that - maybe you could switch to a different brand just in case.
