"MY 19mth old daughterhas stopped liking the bath. She is scared and jumps out onto my lap and won't sit down and won't let me wash her hair. I just want to know if anyone else has this problem and what ideas anyone can suggest to help her like the bath again?"

My 17mth old son. Lawson started doing the same thing, he used to love bath time.... so I started giving him showers with me or my husband... we just let him play on the floor of the shower and give him a lofa and he watches us wash ourselfves with the lofas to so he copies us... then we just get any spots he may of missed and rinse him... if my husband isnt there to start drying him while I get dried I've put a non slip mat on the shower floor and cut hole for drain he just plays in the shower while I get dried to then get him out he doesnt mind a bath anymore now but I found that its easier to shower with him and he enjoys cleaning himself with his own little lofa.... Hope its an idea for you, he was a little freaked out by the shower at first but dont stick him straight under to start with he'll get used to it

i had the same problem with my daughter, she is 18 months, I started giving her toys to play with and washing her with a lofa, this worked but i would still have problems washing her hair when i would pour the water over her head, but she loves being under the shower, so what i did was went and brought a watering can, just one of those small ones that are used for decoration, and now she loves having her hair washed:) hope this helps

I have a 9 and a half month old little son Taj. However, I have 2 niece's and 5 nephews that have are all passed that aged or close to it and they all seemed to have went through that similar experience. I think it must be something that frightens them when the water hits their head??? Anywhos to help with the whole bathing problem...my son loves having showers! You could try shower her to see how she goes. If you dont want to try that or if she doesnt enjoy it maybe just sing songs and make bath time fun. Play games and stuff....WHEN Taj has a bath he seems to enjoy it more when there are toy fish and songs that we sing. Like sitting her on the edge of the bath and sing Humpdy Dumpdy and as you say "had a great fall" you can place her in the bath.
I hope that helps a bit. Good luck with everything and I hope bath time becames enjoyable...for both of you.

Hey, my daughter is 19 mnths and i use the "watering can" method too, except i got sa toy seahorse thing that works the same way. Also Nicole gets bscared when the plug makes a gurgling sound, so i take her out of the bathroom before i pull the plug. make sure you have a few toys to make it a fun time and make hairwashing a quick process.
