6 months is defintly fine ecspeically if since u have monitors etc. there is no wrong or right age to decide when your baby should have their own room its totally up to you.

6 months is a great age to be getting them into their own room... I regretably took too long to get charlotte into her own room, and also out of our bed... its crazy now trying to get her to stay in there without a huge episode... so yes definitely try and get your little one use to waking up in there own room.... There was always a room there for her i was just a push over and caved in to the crying.Good luck with it...And try and be persistant.. it will pay off in the end!

Hi,
We had out baby girl in a bassinet in our room till she was 3 months. Then she got too big for the bassinet so we had to put her in her own room. It was hard for the first few nights, but then it was much better. We have a monitor and she sleeps right through the night too. Good Luck!

hi char, well i just got B into his room yes it was hard work but well worth it.. may i suggest please dont get into the trap of using monitors??!! i know everyone has there own opinion but at roughly 6 months baby should be sleeping thru the night so ive been told.. they dont need that middle of the night feed.. which bray soon showed me as i would give him a bottle he would drink 25 mls then go back to sleep.. once i turned the monitor off b got the idea that mum wasnt going to come in and pick him up and cuddle him and put him back to sleep all it took was 3 nights i cant believe i didnt try earlier!! i was reluctant to turn the monitor off but in my situation it was the best i did each child is different.. so its only a suggestion.. see how you go.. you feel bad for the first night but after that i was fine. good luck!

Kooper has been in his own room since he was 6 weeks. I felt terrible, but i have never had any problems with him in his own room. He is down the other end of the house and sometimes I think it works well cos hubby is up and out super early and that way Koops doesn't hear any noise from our ensuite, car starting etc. I use a moniter, but I guess I don't need to now, I think its more for me than him.. Good Luck!!

my oldest daughter chloe had her own room from 4 months as we moved out of his parnets place into our own unit, but she didnt like it so she ended up back in our room but this time in our bed, that lasted till she was 12 months old and she went back in her room she got over sleeping with us lol and she has been in her own room ever since charlotte has been in her own roon since she was 6 weeks old as she didnr sleep well sharing with us and she didnt like her bassinett either (slept in a vibrating chair for most of her first 6 weeks lol) so she went into her own room in her cot and loved it, i agree just check on them through the night have the baby monitor on and i dont see anything bad with doing it from birth, just do what you feel safe with, hope the move goes well!!

Each parent is different, I knew someone that had their child in his cot in their room until he was well over 1 year old. I put my son in his own room from the day I brought him home. We had moniters and all that stuff, left his door open and always checked in on him.
I think 6 months is a good age. Hope that it all goes well. -Good Luck.

My daughter went into her own room at about 8 weeks old - basically when she started sleeping through the night fairly consistently. But she is only about 4 steps away!

6 mths is fine for nathan to go in his own room both my 2 were. i also had monitors in there rooms and one beside my bed. You can put his cot, toys ,everything in his own special room. go for it!!! It might be weird for awhile as u arnt used to not seeing him in your room. You might even get up and have to check on him because u mite worry if he is alrite. Goodluck!

i put kye in his own room at about 4-5 months i would have done it earlier but when he was about 2 months i went to new zealand for a month and then when we came back i stayed with my parents for 1 month. i had a monitor in there at first but then i would wake up to every little murmor (like when they let out a little cry in their sleep etc) so i took them out.
