hey tash, is there a chance he could be sick?? my little ine acted up like that during the night, when she had her first ear infection, was pretty much a normal child during the day, but was very out of sorts during the night same as yours screaming and not being able to calm them it was by chance i had my older daughter at the doc and he noticed her pulling her ears and i just assumed it was teething and he took a look and she had a ear infection!! (i felt so bad when he said this) and as soon as she had been on antbiotics for 24hrs she was a different child!! im not saying he has one!! was just very much the same that was going on in our house!!! no one was getting any sleep either!! and it wont hurt getting him looked at by a doc to give u a peace of mind, i hope he settles for you soon, all the best Jasmine :)

My daughter has done the same thing off and on from when she was 5 months old. I found that it was teething or like the lady above me said it could be an ear infection, try giving him a dose of panadol, if you prefer not to do that that there are lots of natural medicines on the market, eg. the Braun range, calm, stomache calm, teething solution... i find they work pretty good with charlotte, and bonjella is also fantastic, she did not get teeth till she was 10 1/2 months old but she teethed from 5months. her teeth where always popping up and down.try putting a shirt of yours from the day into his cot when he goes to sleep, i did that with my daughter when she went fromour room to her cot in her room. Anyways good luck... oh yeah have you tried any baby music cd's? charlotte responded well to them.

hey girls i have noticed b has sounded real husky when he is crying and i thought maybe he had a sore throat but mum told me there is nothing wrong with him and im just being an over worried mum!! i might take him up to the doctors and get him looked at i have been giving him panadol but it hasnt helped i even tried a small dose of phernergan which was suggested by a doctor last time we had sleep problems and he doesnt respond to that!! i swear they must have changed that stuff coz when i was a kid it used to knock us out lol!! anyway maybe anti biotics could be the way to go.. man im going to feel like a dag if he is sick!!!hehe anyway thanks girls!!

Hi Tash, i agree with the others but if you find he is not sick maybe try giving him a deep warm bath right before bed and a nice massage with some cream works wonders 4 my kids and they sleep all night its meant to relax them so if ya bath him in the morning try changing and getting him in the routine of after a bath he sleeps hope ya get some sleep soon

This is so funny cause my nearly 6 mnth old daughter did the same thing the other night she let out a horrible cry like i never heard before so me thinking holy sh*t  ran in there i think she may have had a night terror or could be teething.... her poor lil bits are so red but not so much her bottom and she has kinda gone off her usuall amount of bottle, i wonder if they just go through this when the start to get toothies? or could there be something else?

Do you know what? I am going through the same thing at the moment, i have had a full week of hardly any sleep at all. My son, Nathan is alomost 6 months, and has been sleeping through since 4 months. But lately he has been waking up every few hours. But i tried feeding him more milk when he woke up, but he didnt seem to want it most times, so then i worked out he is teething pretty bad. Honestly try giving him his panadol and bonjela and see how that goes. I understand how your feeling, and everything you try just doesnt seem to work. And waking up every few hours i guess just comes with the package of being a mum lol. So good luck with that. Also my sister has a 19month old son, and she said he went through a stage around 6-7 months were he woke up every few hours for no reason. Apperently babies just go through that stage, even after they were in a normal sleeping through the night pattern. You might just have to do it tough for a few weeks till he goes back into his usual routine of sleeping, join the club! haha. Good luck! Let me know how it goes, maybe you can give me some tips?

hehe i just realised something tonight girls!! i went to give b some panadol and had a look at the bottle and it says to give him 6 mls ive been giving him 2 mls no wonder why it hasnt helped with anything!!!!!! so anyway tonight i gave him the reccomended dose and then gave him a bottle which he only had 50 mls of but hopefully he will sleep a little better because he was so tired!! he hasnt fallen asleep on the bottle since he was new born!!! lol anyway ill let you know how it goes and i am taking him to the docs tomorrow to get checked out anyway. thanks for your advice my mum told me to turn off the baby monitor so i did last night i was so apprehensive but it was good i didnt hear him cry from 1 til 630 so it will be staying off tonight to i think he may be conning me a little too as he now thinks if he cries mummy is going to come in.. they are pretty smart hey!!! i think im starting to learn not to put anything past b he knows too much lol!!! lots of love and kisses to everyone
